Clay is a naturally occurring material composed primarily of fine-grained minerals, which show plasticity through a variable range of water content, and which can be hardened when dried and/or fired. Clay can be found almost everywhere in the world-obvoiusly in garden and riverbank. Many potters still dig their own clay but raw clay is not very pliable and can be difficult to deal with. We need to add other material in order to give it plasticity.
